The Independent Account Codes form defines account codes. Account codes are entered when dialing from a given device to permit access to ARS and to assign an account code-dependent COS and COR to the device for the duration of the call. Account codes may be used by individuals to change the default COS and COR assigned to a particular station set in order to invoke some COS-controlled features not normally permitted at the set, or to enable connection to COR-controlled ARS routes when that connection is not normally permitted by the COR assigned to the set being used. Account codes may also be used to identify a particular account or user in notification messages sent to the property management system. For example, if "Room Status – Maid ID Required" is enabled in the Hotel Options, maids must enter their ID code (independent account code) prior to updating the status of a room. This code is sent to the PMS within the Maid Status Message.
Use this form when performing the following tasks:
NOTE: Adding a large number of account codes, whether by range programming or by using the Import function, can be time consuming. This is especially true when adding to an existing list of codes since the system requires they be stored in ascending order. To speed up the process, add the codes in the required order—that is, from lowest to highest. An account code is considered higher than another if it contains more digits. For codes of equal length, the higher one is the one which is numerically greater. Thus, account code 000001 is greater than 99999, but less than 099999.
To record assigned account codes in the SMDR record (overriding the default account code), the "Report Account Codes" parameter in the SMDR Options form must be set to "Yes".
